Who says you have to invent a new idea before you become an entrepreneur? Spot a gap, fill it and create value to be an entrepreneur. Our story this week captures just that. Mary Ephraim never really set out to start a business of her own, a graduate of English and Literary Studies from the University of Calabar; she was comfortable with her job as a TV & Radio broadcaster. However, the entrepreneurial spirit which is in everyone kept burning particularly as she kept seeing gaps. In 2010, Mary decided to take the bull by the horn and set up Okhma and Homeland Films. Today her Okhma and Homeland is the official marketing company of the Calabar Carnival – Africa’s Biggest Street Party.
