This week on Enterprise Stories we feature Olumide Akintayo, the CEO of Easylink Foods Ltd – a company which trades, farms and process export based agricultural commodities like cashew nuts, sesame seed, hibiscus flower and soy beans. Olumide’s interest in Agriculture started at his early age when he watched his father farm acres of land in his village and he got fascinated with the way the father nurtured the crops. There and then, Olumide decided that he will study agro- related course and own his own farmland one day. So years later, he got admission to study Agronomy at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomosho. Upon graduation he worked as an independent sales agent for a real estate for 2 years but was not fulfilled thus, his desire to go into farming was rekindled by his mentor. So in 2012, Olumide registered Easylink Foods Ltd and started operation in the export sector of the agribusiness with just one staff. Today, Olumide has over 15 staff working for him as he explores the numerous opportunities in the sector.
