This week on Enterprise Stories we feature Femi Oye, the co-founder of SMEFunds – an international energy company that focuses on developing clean energy solutions for Nigerians living below poverty line. Femi was inspired to set up SMEFunds because of the terrible experiences he had while growing up with his grandmother in the village. She cooked all her life with firewood and the constant inhaling of smoke fumes infected her with respiratory issues which eventually terminated her life. Femi was determined to solve this problem for other women and this made him to conduct a research that brought about this special stove, which is cheap and environmentally friendly. This is an innovation that does not only eliminate the health hazard women face while cooking it fire wood and the rest of its kind but also solves environmental problems because it uses a special fuel made from waste. For more on Femi’s story and what SMEFUNDS is doing for the rural women? Tune in to Inspiration 92.3Fm or log on to edcradioonline.com today Tuesday 3rd October 2017 at 3pm.
