Enterprise Stories - Mary Onu

Fri 19th Jan 2018

This week on Enterprise Stories, we feature Mary Onu, the Proprietress of St Andrew’s School - a school that caters for Creche, Nursery and Afterschool kids. Mary studied Mathematics with Computer Science as first degree and a Prost graduate Diploma in Education. She had always enjoyed sharing knowledge and wanted to become a teacher in retirement after having a full work life of IT. But it didn’t happen that way, because of marriage she had to leave her IT career and focus on parenting. She went on to do her PGD in the University of Aberdeen after which she got employed at the Hazlehead Academy, Aberdeen where she taught for 6 years. Her passion for Education coupled with her experience taking care of her kids while working led to the birth of St. Andrews School. She founded St. Andrews School in 2011 with only 2 staff and today has 31 staff. Although it has not been a smooth ride, Mary has a lot to be thankful for. Tune in to Inspiration 92.3Fm or log on to edcradioonline.com today at 3pm to listen to Mary share her Entrepreneurial Journey.
