This week on Enterprise Stories we feature an award-winning fashion designer, Uchechi Arinze, a young lady who was driven by passion to abandon a career in Architecture to follow in the footsteps of her mother in fashion designing. Uchechi Arinze always admired her mother’s work and would spend time with her every time she came home on holiday, cutting fabrics. After her graduation Uchechi didn’t think twice about enrolling for a fashion school and soon started her own fashion business in 2010. The same year she was the 1st runner-up of the Lagos Design Accord Competition and used the prize money to acquire the first set of equipment she started her business with. Today, Chechi Arinze Fashion has won a few more business competitions and has a fully equipped factory that produces Nigerian made women clothing line that can compete globally.
